AMS Home Sciences was a result of the discovery of a substance that was eventually named adaptogens. These adaptogens are designed to help the body adapt to the many stresses that a person has to face in every day life.

The adaptogens formula was developed from a plant found on the border between Russian and China by a Dr. Brekhman who received patronage from the Russian Government to develop the product.

Adaptogens have been in use for more than forty years, and was first used by the Soviet elite and its athletes to increase their performance and their life expectancy. AMS Home Sciences acquired the exclusive world distribution rights to adaptogens through their acquisition of Roy Spears’ Life Science Technologies Company.

AMS also recognized the opportunity that this along with Dr Brekhman’s product presented, both for them, and for the health and well being of people all over the world.

AMS Home Sciences then developed a series of products called Prime One and this, along with their rights to adaptogens are now regarded as one of the most potent systems for helping people to achieve and maintain optimum health. Furthermore the company has developed exclusive family weight loss products and systems to enable families to eat and live well.

AMS Home Sciences target their products at the baby boomer generation (those people born between 1946 and 1964) as many of them are experiencing their peak earning power and are probably the prime consumers of the wellness industry. The fact is that six out of every ten Americans are overweight and if they are to achieve peak performance and increased life expectancy then something like the AMS Home Sciences products are just what is needed.

Whether you decide to promote this program or not, please be aware that there are a few characteristics you should possess if you plan to be successful in any program. One of these skills is leadership. You’ll have to stand by the program you want to promote no matter what others think. This isn’t easy for everyone to do.

You also have to either be willing to learn or already possess sales skills. This can be learned “on the job” so to speak, but it can also be learned by going to industry specific seminars.

AMS Home Sciences offer their business and income opportunity to people who want to move out of the rat race and work from home. The company offers its members their own company website along with all the tools and support that they will need to make a success of network marketing.

The company offers those who sign up for their system training and information on the wellness industry and network marketing – they provide members with videos, audios and cds to help them in their training. The company offers continuing support to its members through networking events and sales leads.

AMS Home Sciences is a rapidly growing network marketing company is to have a positive impact on the health and wealth of people all over the world and wherever they do business.

There are a lot of MLM opportunities out there that promise to make people feel better, have more energy, and have an overall better quality of life and health. The Peak Energy Science income opportunity is certainly one of these, but with a twist. What is the twist? Peak Energy Science products are said to actually work. The company was started by a husband and wife team, Walt and Emily. They were married in 1994 and Walt, having been in different types of business before was looking for the next BIG thing. He had done restaurants; he had done home security, and wanted something else that people would need.

The FDA released a report entitled the ‘Better Health Information for Consumers’ that basically said that all supplements are not created equally, and that a good majority of them may not work the way that they wanted to. From this, Walt and Emily decided that they had an open niche, one that didn’t seem untapped but really was.

The Mission of Peak Energy Science

The mission of Peak Energy Science is really to make sure that they remain separate from other, similar MLM ventures out there. Some companies are so focused with making money that they forget the overall purpose of their product and in this case, Peak Energy Science just wanted people to look healthy and feel healthy. People want to not only look young but feel young as well and when it comes to supplementation, companies are very good for promising things that they can’t deliver. The company owners even did some research and found out that many of these supplements were either deleterious to a person’s health or just plain didn’t work at all.

Peak Energy Science Commissions

Peak Energy Science has a real commission program, where people can make money by selling the product and by recruiting others to sell it as well. Those who have a successful program of affiliates will find that they can be truly successful with their income opportunity. The products are automatically shipped to the affiliate at a low price on a monthly basis, and they can purchase products for both their own use and for retail purposes. They are encouraged to enroll businesses to sell Peak Energy Science products, and the money just rolls in from there.

When joining a program like this make sure you find yourself someone who will walk the long road to success with you. And I’m not talking about someone already popular in the company. I’m referring to someone with a lot to offer as far as having solid grounded marketing skills is concerned. They are not a dime a dozen, so it may take some searching to really find the person you want to join.

Tier 1 is at 5 percent commission; Tier 2 is at 12 percent commission to encourage people to bring of affiliates of their own, and every tier thereafter is at a 5 percent sales commission. There are also quarterly and yearly sales bonuses to look forward to and these bonuses can get mighty hefty. This is a great way to make money with something that you believe in, and something that you can really use.

Science is the result of man!s quest to understand the nature and the world around him. The method of scientific investigation has been perfected and applied so much to study things around us that our scientific knowledge expanding at the rate of several tens of thousands of printed pages every day. This increase in knowledge has affected all the areas of our life, so that today all the spheres of our lives come in touch with science in some way or other.

Parents prefer to send students to science courses in schools and colleges. Synthetic clothes have become so cheap that in most cases it is a luxury these days to wear cotton dresses. Television, radio, medicine, and means of transportation are becoming more readily available even to the middle-class families. So the awareness is growing silently that all the technically marvels of today are the result of scientific researches. By implications, science represents knowledge and truth. In fact, these marvels of scientific breakthrough combined with the present education system are giving the impression to people that scientific investigation is the only legitimate method to learn about the realities around us. Evolutionists and rationalists have used this popular notion to attack the Bible.

Since educated people already have this notion that scientific investigation is the only way to investigate truths around it, it is easy to influence them in the name of science. This has been done repeatedly by all sorts of critics who demand that everything in Bible should be subjected to scientific investigation, it is not to be believed. This claim that not everything in the Bible can be verified by scientific tests. This realization produces a great conflict in the hearts of young people everywhere, and therefore we should definitely discuss the whole subject. In fact the present day Christian society is full of people who will be greatly helped if someone is willing to discuss the whole issue.

There is no shortage of people who feel that all such discussion is futile because once faith is established and once a person becomes spiritually mature, he is no longer disturbed by these questions. There is no doubt that once a person becomes spiritually mature, many things which previously troubled him cease to do so, but this is not the real issue here. What the spiritually mature people have to understand and appreciate is that unless someone helps these people in doubt, they might never grow to a stage where they might become mature. The nagging doubts which they are facing presently might completely distort and destroy their faith.

A problem never looks too serious or threatening to one unless he himself is facing it. So a person who has never faced a problem related to science versus faith will never be able to appreciate the trauma of someone who is facing it presently. So, instead of minimizing or understanding some problems which one has never faced, or which one is not likely to face, it will be much better if all the available energy is focused on solving the problems of those who are actually facing them.

There are others who dismiss the whole problem because of their fear. Discussing science and its relationship with the Scripture is not an easy task. It might require the knowledge of numerous fields of study. So out of fear of falling in the tough task, many people simply run away; they just claim that this is all an unnecessary and unfruitful exercise. But this is not the Christian spirit. Truth can always stand before any trail, the only care to be taken is to see that the trial is fair and objective. A spirit of genuine enquiry should prevail instead of a spirit of reaction or of preconception.

Every reader of this article can remain assured that Christian men of learning and scholarship are not silent on the face of criticism directed against the Scriptures. In fact there are numerous societies and organizations throughout the world who are are trying to study and refute the attacks directed against the Bible. As a result, anyone can get a whole library full books which examine all aspects of the problems. Christians have nothing to loose in discussing problems related to science versus faith. On the contrary, the whole exercise will only strengthen the faith of the genuine enquirer.

Doing science fair projects should be fun for the kids. Here is one of our easy science fair projects kids can do that is fun. It needs very little supplies, it also needs very little work, but it will need a little time. It is very easy though and if you have the time the kids will get a trill out of it.

In this experiment kids are going to look at how organic matter decomposes. Your kid will see that soil teems with life such as worms, slugs, millipedes and beetles that feed on the decaying matter. The decomposers are microscopic bacteria, fungi, woodlice, mites and small insects. This decomposing is the process where all organic material is turned into rich fertilizer for the growing plants in the soil.

This project actually consists of two easy science fair projects for the kids to do. The first your kid is going to look at the conditions needed for the decomposing process and in the second your kid is going to look at the decomposers.

Remember to make meticulous notes from your hypothesis to your conclusion and for your display purposes it is a good idea to take photos of each step as you go.

Having a look at the optimal conditions for the decomposing process:

What you need:

* A trowel
* Good soil
* Dead leaves
* Water and a watering can
* Two clean plastic containers, one with a tight lid
* Tags
* Pen
* Note book
* Camera
* Plastic gloves

This is what you have to do:

Wear your gloves for both of these experiments

1. Remember your notes and photos
2. Using your trowel fill the two plastic containers three quarters full with dry soil
3. Place a layer of dead leaves on top of the soil in both containers
4. Mark the container with the lid “A” and the other “B”
5. Now you water the soil and the leaves in your container marked “A” thoroughly and press the lid on
6. Keep the soil and leaves in the container marked “B” dry, do not add any water to it
7. Place both containers in a dry place and wait a few weeks
8. Have a look at both and you will notice that the leaves in the wet soil will have begun to rot while the leaves in the dry soil has dried and shriveled.

In the next experiment that is the second of our easy science fair projects for kids to do we are going to look at the decomposers.

What you will need:

* Once again your plastic gloves
* A plastic funnel
* A large clear jar with a neck into which the funnel will fit
* Some rotting leaves from a compost heap
* Black paper
* Sticky tape
* A desk lamp
* A magnifying glass
* A field guide
* A notebook
* A pen
* A camera

This is what you have to do:

1. The plan is to see the insects on the rotting leaves
2. You are going to separate them by using a lamp, a funnel and a large jar
3. Place the funnel in the jar
4. Wearing your gloves loosely fill the funnel with your rotting leaves
5. To keep out the light, you have to tape the black paper around the sides of the jar so it is dark inside the jar
6. Now you place the lamp in such a position that it shines onto the leaves in the funnel
7. What you want to happen is for the insects on the leaves to move away from the heat and light from the lamp
8. While doing so they will fall down the funnel and into the jar.
9. After an hour, take a way the lamp and remove the black paper from the jar
10. There will be several insects in the jar
11. Identify them by looking at them with the magnifying glass and the field guide
12. When you are finished, return them to where you found them and be careful not to kill them. These creatures are very important in the eco system of the earth!

As you can see, kids will be able to the most of the work in these two easy science fair projects for kids to do. The two combines should give you enough material for a good display.

Maybe you have left it too late and now you need science Fair Projects you can do quickly. Well, you’re in luck, here is a fun and easy one you can do in less than 24 hours! This is one of our many easy science fair projects to do on short notice

This experiment is about heat absorption. You are going to try and find out which colors absorb more heat than other.

Here are the questions you should be able to answer after you have completed this science fair project:

Which ice cube melted the most? How did the colors effect the melting of the ice cubes? What does this fact tell you about the heat absorption of colors? Do dark colors absorb more heat than light colors?

Now we have to start our experiment:

Do you know what the first thing is you need to do? Yes, you have to formulate your hypothesis! In doing this experiment to see which ice cube, covered in different colors, melts the most, what do you think your hypothesis should be? Okay it is: Do dark colors absorb more heat than light colors.

What you need for this easy science fair project (it is called the materials):

Several different colors of fabric about 6 or 7 inches square, as many as you can but at least 5 different colors A pair of scissors An ice cube for each color of fabric, the ice cubes must be more or less the same size A good food scale that can weigh very small differences A large cookie sheet or a tray A pen A note book A camera

How you have to do this experiment (it is called the procedure):

Cut the pieces of fabric to a size a little larger than the tops of the ice cubes Now you have to weigh each ice cube and make a note of the weight Place the ice cubes on the cookie tray Take a photo for your display Cover each ice cube with a piece of fabric Make sure you write down which color you placed over which ice cube as you have to work out the percentage of weight each cube lost late on. Once again take a photo for your display Place the cookie tray in direct sunlight Leave it for 15 minutes, if it is not too hot. If it is very hot and the cubes are going to melt very fast you have to check on them sooner. This you will have to work out for yourself Take a photo for your display Bring the ice cubes back in and take a photo for your display Weigh each ice cube as fast as possible to prevent further melting Write down each one’s weight Now you have to determine the percentage of weight each cube has lost. This is how you do it: you take the beginning weight of the ice cube and you subtract the end weigh of the ice cube from it. This amount you divide by the beginning weight multiplied by a hundred to get the percentage. A formula to show you this will be easier:

(Beginning weight) – (final weight)/ Beginning weight X 100 = percentage melted

Can you think of what else you can do for your display now? Yes, you have to make a graph to show the differences in percentage each ice cube melted.

Now you can come to your conclusion about the difference in heat different colors absorbs.

If you have more time for science fair projects to do, you can take this experiment further by doing the same, but placing the tray in the fridge or by covering it with a cardboard box to see if it makes any difference to the results and to formulate why you think it makes a difference. For instance, does the heat absorption of the cardboard box play any role in it?

I have read a lot of books on self help, success, and other topics related to personal growth. It wasn’t until I read “The Science of Getting Rich” that all I had read really started to make sense.

Although Rhonda Byrne, the author of “The Secret” says that “The Science of Getting Rich” is was one of the books she was influenced by, she missed some crucial points about what Wallace Wattles had to say.

1. The Science of Getting Rich is practical.

It’s not about thinking positive thoughts, and it doesn’t matter if you are a positive person or a negative person. This book is about getting rich first. It’s about following specific principles. It’s not about dealing with your baggage or changing your mindset in a way that you become a more positive person.

2. This is not a study of metaphysics, and you don’t need to know how it works to make it work.

It’s like using a computer. You learn how to use a computer, but you don’t have to know what hardware or software is in order to make it work. You also don’t need to know the internal workings of a computer to learn how to operate your computer.

3. Faith is a crucial part of the process.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

In order to make the “Science of Getting Rich” work, we first have to have faith. We have to believe something is true before seeing it come true. God won’t violate our free will. If we don’t believe, if we don’t have faith first, then what we want can’t become a reality.

This goes against conventional wisdom which says “seeing is believiing.” Wattles says you must first see it in your mind before you see it in reality.

4. To understand the underlying philosophy of the “Science of Getting Rich” you may read the writers he recommends.

Although Wattles doesn’t mention it, Wattles was a minister. He was Christian. He studied philosophy, as well as the Hindu religion. Wattles doesn’t say that much of the universal human truth outlined in his book is in the Bible.

What he does say is that you don’t have to study philosophy or Hinduism and its influence on Western culture in order to understand what he is trying to say.

5. It’s more important to read “The Science of Getting Rich” than to read the philosophy behind it.

Although reading the philosophy will help you understand how Wattles arrived at his conclusions, doing what the book tells you to do is the real secret to finding true riches in life.

Wattles approaches riches from the point of view of the mind, body, and spirit. We must satisfy all three areas of our lives to enjoy the riches we attain. If any area of our lives is out of balance, it will affect our happiness and create obstacles to our enjoyment of life.

6. The “Science of Getting Rich” is scientific not metaphysical.

I mentioned metaphysics earlier. Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that examines the nature of reality. Wattles isn’t concerned with this. Wattles is concerned with how the rules of the universe operate and how to use those rules to become rich.

Whereas metaphysics deals with theories about reality, the rules of the universe have been tested and are a fact. This brings Wattles into the realm of science, with proven rules and processes that work. By applying these rules and processes to our lives, we achieve measurable results.

7. Action is crucial to success.

If you don’t take action, nothing will happen. Wattles says to read the book and do exactly what it tells you to do. Ultimately, this book becomes a blueprint for achieving what you want.

Keeping children interested in their education is a struggle that’s faced parents for generations. While some children love going to school and have a genuine thirst for knowledge, others see learning as something they’re forced to do when they’d rather be playing.

Science toys are a great way to stimulate children’s natural curiosity, and to keep them entertained while learning about science and nature. In fact, with science toys, children can have so much fun, they may not even realise they’re learning something new.

Classic Newton’s Cradle

This addictive toy has been a favourite of bored executives for many years. Gently raising then releasing one of the end pendulums will cause energy to travel through the three static centre pendulums, before pushing the final pendulum outwards. When the final pendulum comes back, the process is repeated over and over, teaching children about the conservation of momentum and energy.

Drinking Bird

Dip the Drinking Bird’s beak into a glass of water, and he’ll carry on drinking for hours. A popular curiosity in the 60s and 70s, the Drinking Bird demonstrates a variety of physical laws including the combined gas law, the ideal gas law, the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution, the heat of vaporisation, torque, centre of mass and capillary action.

The Drinking Bird is a mesmerising sight for all ages, but as it’s made of glass and contains a volatile liquid, we recommend close adult supervision.

Fun Fly Stick

Watching electricity in action is one of the most fascinating ways to see science at work.

The Fun Fly Stick is a wand that makes a collection of metal toys fly, as if by magic – Harry Potter fans will no doubt find this toy especially enthralling! The Fun Fly Stick contains a Van de Graaff generator that generates an electrostatic charge. When you raise the Fun Fly Stick, the toys become charged so that the wand repels them, and they float upwards away from the wand.

Hologram Chamber

The Hologram Chamber uses light and mirrors to create an optical illusion, so that small objects placed in the centre of the Hologram Chamber appear to hover in mid-air. Children can have hours of fun making small objects seem to levitate in the Hologram Chamber.

Sun Print Kit

Children can have hours of fun learning about early photography by making their own prints using the Sun Print Kit. Place an object – or a selection of objects – on a sheet of Sun Print paper and leave it in the sun, then rinse the Sun Print paper in clean water to fix the image. The Sun Print Kit is a great way to teach children about the science of photography, while encouraging their creativity.

Triassic Triops Kit

These curious aquatic creatures have been around since the Triassic Period, when Tyrannosaurus rex still walked the earth.

Triops are hatched from dried out eggs which have evolved to survive long periods of drought. While Triops don’t make quite as exciting a pet as a dog or a cat, they are nevertheless fascinating to watch, and teach children about nature and the responsibilities of pet ownership.

Microscope Set

One of the best ways to encourage an interest in science and nature from a young age is to buy your child a Microscope Set. Anything small enough to sit on the microscope’s stage can be scrutinised by your child – flowers, seeds, leaves and insects are fascinating when seen through a microscope, and will keep your child interested for hours on end.

The Microscope Set contains a variety of additional accessories including test tubes, slides, tweezers and a probe, as well as a sturdy carrying case which protects the microscope and accessories when they’re not in use.

Children have enquiring minds and love learning how things work. While they’re young, children’s minds are like sponges, soaking up information very easily. Take advantage of this by providing educational toys that help your child develop an interest in science, technology and nature, and pave the way for your child wanting to unravel the universe’s mysteries later in life. You never know – your child may well be the next Newton, waiting to be discovered…

How did our universe come into existence?

The question of how our universe came into existence has mystified scientists, philosophers and lay thinkers for centuries. The fact that we are here, suggests an origin. Yet the universe’s origin, from a scientific perspective, is far from clear-cut or obvious. Even more puzzling is that in this age of high-tech, when we can peer into vast regions of space, penetrating literally billions of light-years into the cosmos, as well as observe phenomena on the microscopic and atomic levels, the origin of our universe is still not that obvious.

Or is it?

Is it possible that the origin of our universe is staring us right in the face and we don’t see it? Like the old murder mystery about the police who question the postman for hours as to who he saw near the house on the day of the murder. But it never occurs to them that the postman might be the murderer.

When confronted with questions about the origin of the universe, scientists usually speak of the “big bang.” In 1929, astronomer Edwin Hubble published his finding that the universe is expanding. That is, in any direction you look up into the sky, you will find that most stars are flying away from us.

Hubble’s discovery led to an extrapolation of where all matter in the universe might have begun. If the direction of all the galaxies flying apart were reversed, it appeared that everything would meet at one point. At some distant past, scientists believe, all matter in our universe began at that one single point, exploded, and, thus, the “big bang.”

Scientists also believe that the laws of nature at the moment of the big bang must have had some remarkable properties. All matter in the universe being condensed into such a small area would have produced something called a “singularity” — a point of infinite density in which, much like the inside of a black hole, time and the laws of nature, as we know them, cease to function. And it is this singularity that prevents the formulation of theories about the universe prior to the big bang — if the big bang totally distorted the laws of nature, there’s no telling what “nature” might have been like prior to that.

Some view the big bang as science’s answer to our origin, other’s view the complexity of our universe as proof of a Creator. These two camps have held their ground for many years now, and a “Time Magazine” article entitled “Science, God and Man” pretty much reflected these ongoing contentions.

At one point, the Time article seems to maintain that our ability to decipher some of science’s mysteries and complexities seem “enough to dampen a person’s hopes for higher meaning.” The very next paragraph makes the paradoxical statement that “looking at the big picture … there is more to this universe than meets the eye, something authentically divine about how it all fits together.”

A deeper analysis of this subject matter, however, might demonstrate how some of the above contentions are simply wrong. The big bang answers very little. Describing the complexities of our universe is not at all necessary to ponder the existence of a Creator, and solving some of science’s mysteries does not in any way detract from the need for a Creator.

To begin with, the entire big bang scenario only adds a step to the question of “Where did we come from?” The big bang refers to only one point in time. The originating force that gave the big bang its power and potency would be the key to “where we came from.” Of course, you could add several more steps, as scientists sometimes opt to do, almost in seriousness, that there may have been other universes before or parallel to ours. But this only adds unverifiable assumptions, clouds the issue and solves nothing.

To talk about a “beginning” you have to go back to a time before which literally nothing existed. And this is what science does not and cannot do.

The universe we live in gives every indication of having “come from somewhere.” The laws of nature dictate this. Nothing in our universe seems to have the ability to create or destroy itself. Matter and energy only go through transformations, with no elementary (subatomic) particle components gained or lost, in the big scheme of things. A fire may destroy a house, but every subatomic component that encompassed the house is still in existence after the fire. An atomic bomb may destroy an entire city, but only in the form of a transformation, no substance is actually lost to some exotic void.

In the same vein, nothing in our universe is ever created. Stars are formed (of gas), they do not “create” their constituent components. Meteorites are formed (or chipped off larger bodies), they do not “create” rock or ice. Apple strudels are baked, they do not come from strudel machines.

This leaves us with a very serious dilemma. Based on known laws of nature — that nothing can create itself — our universe shouldn’t exist. But it does.

At one point, scientists thought they had the answer when they observed subatomic particles appearing from “nowhere.” It seemed only logical that if enough subatomic particles created themselves they would eventually form an entire universe.

This notion, however, of “something” coming from “nothing” is neither logical not scientific. The entire concept of “nothing” implies complete and utter nothingness — nothingness not only in substance, but also in potentiality. Something that has the potential to produce anything, even if at present it has no observable form or properties, is obviously not “nothing” — it is apparently a latent force of some kind.

Furthermore, to verify that “something” came from “nothing,” you’d have to prove that there was in fact nothing there to begin with. And that’s impossible. For “detecting nothing” can always mean that your experiment or apparatus is simply not sophisticated enough. In fact, the very fact that something seems to suddenly appear from “nowhere” is, ironically, concrete proof that something actually does exist where you think there is nothing.

And this is precisely what scientists discovered in the above case. As science became more sophisticated, it became apparent that what scientists previously thought came from “nothing” was actually a transformation of a more basic or subtle form of subatomic substance into a form more readily detectable with cruder observational methods.

So, the question of “Where did our universe come from?” isn’t just some idealistic venture into the realm of metaphysics. It isn’t just some exercise in nonsensical philosophical deliberation. It isn’t a “complex” scientific question which we may have the answer to in the future. It is, scientifically speaking, a profoundly disturbing question which the laws of nature themselves indicate is unanswerable. No matter how long you claim the universe has been in existence, no matter how powerful that big bang may have been, no matter what kind of transitions the laws of nature may have gone through during that big bang, at some point in the past all the stuff of the universe (or universes) had to come into existence. How?

The only possible explanation is that the ultimate origin of everything that exists must have been from a source that is itself not bound by our laws of nature. A source which did not necessarily have to “come from” anywhere. This may not be an easy concept to comprehend. But the alternative leaves us with the completely irrational, unscientific and absurd notion that in spite of the fact that our universe exists, there was no way for it to have come into existence.

At this point, to start entertaining the thought of a Creator isn’t simply a “convenience,” a “way out,” a “fanatical” view, or even “religious dogma.” It is a very realistic, necessary and logical step in explaining our existence. Furthermore, it can even be classified as science. The concept of a Creator is no more removed from science than the notions of “other universes,” the inner workings of black holes, the laws of nature at the moment of the big bang, and a host of subatomic particles that scientists spend literally millions of dollars trying to track down that never pan out. These scientifically unverifiable concepts, based solely on logical deductions, are quite clearly entertained by bona fide scientists. Then why not the “theory” of a Creator? What can be more logical than the notion that a universe with laws of nature that preclude its own creation to have been brought into existence by a Creator? And what alternative would be more logical or scientific?

Apparently, the inclination to avoid a Creator at all cost by some, constitutes nothing but an extreme form of bias. It has nothing to do with logic or science.

Getting back to the Time article: That scientific advances are somehow “enough to dampen a person’s hopes for higher meaning” is totally absurd. The need for “higher meaning” (a Creator) does not stem from the complexities of our universe. It stems from the simple fact that the universe exists. What’s more, if the entire universe contained nothing but one spec of dust, it would suggest a Creator, since the spec of dust could not have created itself. If the universe contained an imponderable amount of mass and energy, as it does, but none of it in any complex or aesthetic form, it would most certainly suggest a Creator. So by the time you get around to talking about complexities, you’ve already gone way past the point of establishing the fundamental need for a Creator. The complexities, at that point, far from “dampening hopes for higher meaning,” go a long way in describing the power, resourcefulness and ingenuity of the already-inferred Creator. And the more complexities you decipher, the more brilliant a Creator you establish.

Personally, I think one of the most brilliant aspects of Creation is, ironically, those people who don’t believe in God. To Create an intelligent person, put him in the midst of a universe that seems almost limitless in space, energy and matter, give him the scientific capability of deciphering some of the universe’s complexities and secrets, and, at the same time, endow him with an emotional feature that somehow gives him the capacity to deny that any of this required a Creator, is about as brilliant as the implementation of “free will” can get.

If you want your child to have a love for learning which lasts a lifetime, you should start encouraging them early. Kids have a natural tendency to want to explore their environment and discover the world around them. A great way to instille a love for learning and an interest in science, one of the best things you can do for you child is get them a science toy. There are a number of science toys out there designed to provoke your child’s interest in learning and give them a better understanding of their environment.

One of the most popular science toys for children is the chemistry set. Chemistry sets range in price from around $20 to upwards of $200. As you can tell from such a price range, there is a wide variety of options when buying a chemistry set. The difference in price is usually due to the amount of equipment and chemicals included with the set. Many parents are concerned with their child’s safety when experimenting with chemicals. As with most activities, a child should be supervised while playing with a chemistry set, but the chances of them blowing up the house or even seriously injuring themselves are pretty slim. Another concern parents have with chemistry sets is what to do when the chemicals are depleted. Again, this isn’t a big deal because most sets come with catalogs from which you can restock the set for a reasonable price. You can also order refills online.

Another popular science toy is the ant farm. Who didn’t have one of these when they were a kid? What you probably didn’t know is that they have a more scientific-sounding name: formicarium. “Ant farm” is, in fact, a trademarked name owned by Uncle Milton Industries. Ant farms are highly educational and fun. Kits never come with ants. They instruct you to either collect some from around the house or you can have a small tube of them delivered to your house. Most come with some sort of sand or soil in which the ants build their tunnels. Newer models, though, come with a thick gel which the ants not only burrow through but they can also eat it.

A third toy which will encourage your child’s interest in science is the microscope. Children can learn a great deal about the natural world with a microscope. There are a plethora of microscopes on today’s market. The sky’s the limit when it comes to pricing on these instruments, but they can also be found at very reasonable costs. You can buy a good microscope for around $40. Spending less will get your a pretty shoddy instrument. And if you want nothing but the best for your child then you can easily spend in excess of $700! Kids can find things all over the place to look at under a microscope and you can also buy them prepared slides. A set of 10 such slides will cost about $20 and have things to look at like bacteria, a sliver of leaf, and animal skin.

Recent news reports have stated that there aren’t enough scientists being produced in America. Maybe your kid will be the next Einstein. It’s got to be someone, right? Why not your kid? Encourage learning and an interest in science by giving your child a science toy.
