Your Front Door Is The Eye Of Your Home

Posted by: Jean Parker  :  Category: House & Home

If you are looking to increase your homes curb appeal, it is something as simple as focusing on your front door and entryway. This is the first thing that many notice when they pass by or visit your home. A beautiful entry way and a path to your front door can make your the appearance of your home look much different.

One of the simplest things that you can do, that will make a large difference in your entryway appearance, is repaint the front door. Maybe it needs a fresh coat of the same color. Maybe it needs a bolder color to stand out more. Whichever you decide you want to stick with neutral and coordinating colors. Do not go with oranges or greens, unless this is the color of your home. There are many other ways to add color to your entryway without painting it on your door.

Falcons Start Fast, Beat Rams In NFL Preseason Action

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

It may only be preseason in the NFL, but the Atlanta Falcons are making a statement that they’ll be a factor in the NFC. The Falcons starters behind QB Matt Ryan were almost flawless, and left the reserves with a 14-0 lead before eventually beating the St. Louis Rams 20-13 at the Edward Jones Dome on Friday night.

Running back Michael Turner was unstoppable in his limited playing time, churning out 65 yards in the Falcons opening drive. After the game, he confirmed that the Falcons offense had placed a priority on sound execution:

“We wanted to come out and execute. They were preaching that all week and we wanted to show that on game day. We’re way better than we were last year at this time.”

Tony Gonzalez caught QB Matt Ryans TD pass and after the game praised the young team leader:

“He’s a great quarterback. It’s obvious he’s figuring things out. He has a great arm, talent, and knows how to play with poise.”

It was a disappointing home debut for new Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo, who saw his team blown away from the opening whistle before a half empty stadium:

Peer To Peer Loans Must Be Included In Your Investment Strategy

Posted by: Louise J. Mares  :  Category: Computer & Internet

A first tenet of a well designed investment strategy is to make sure your portfolio is well diversified. This means that the funds you have invested are in a various mix of different types of investments. An excellent way to inject diversity that includes a good return and allows you to manage your risk is to include peer to peer loans to your portfolio.

A unique advantage to peer to peer loans is that the investor himself can look over the borrower requests and pick those loans he is interested in investing in. Every investor has a different tolerance for risk, and of course higher risk loans have higher returns. Each investor has total control over where his loans go according to his investment strategy, as you will see in a moment. If you are interested in low return with very low risk, or higher return with greater risk, or are interested in investing for other reasons, such as contributing to a given cause.

Indy Nips Jacksonville As NFL Season Gets Underway

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

The Indianapolis Colts, finding their offense shut down by a relentless Jacksonville Jaguars attack, fought back in kind. The often maligned Indy stop unit matched the ferocity of their Jaguars counterparts play for play, and one touchdown pass from Peyton Manning proved to be enough to earn victory by a 14-12 margin in the NFL season opener for both teams. With the victory Peyton Manning tied the great Johnny Unitas for the franchise victory lead.

NFL sports betting enthusiasts who took the Jaguars as +6 road underdogs were rewarded with the pointspread cover. Indianapolis dropped to 11-16 ATS over the past three years when favored. The 26 combined points went well UNDER the posted total of 45. Despite their reputation as an offensive juggernaut, the Colts have actually trended to the UNDER over the past three seasons, with 19 UNDERs in their past 35 lined games. The Jaguars, conversely, have a slight edge to the OVER in that span with a 19-14 mark over the past three years. Thats somewhat counterintuitive for a team best known for their defense.

After the contest, Manning displayed his characteristic humility when asked about tying the franchise mark for wins and particularly comparisons to the iconic Unitas:

UFC Flashback: Ultimate Fight Night Features Lauzon Vs. Stephens

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

Ever since he burst onto the MMA scene Joe Lauzon has been working to earn respect. Hes lost only once since then–to top contender Kenny Florian in a bout that earned fight of the night honors–but for some reason hes had trouble being taken seriously as a top contender in the UFCs lightweight division. In the main event at the UFC Ultimate Fight Night in Tampa, Lauzon withstood a game challenge from late replacement Jeremy Stephens to earn a 2nd round submission victory.

Lauzon was in control of the fight throughout, but Stephens gave a good account of himself despite his opponents obvious technical superiority on the ground. Stephens wasn’t able to match up with Lauzon’s ever improving BJJ skills, but he used good old fashioned tenacity and some powerful punching to keep the fight competitive throughout. Lauzon appeared to be on the verge of ending the fight midway through the second with a ground and pound assault that he attempted to transition into a rear naked choke. Stephens fought back with a vengeance despite his disadvantageous position and opened a nasty cut on Lauzon’s forehead with an elbow strike.

Rams Beat Bengals On The Road In NFL Preseason Action

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

Kyle Boller filled in for an injured Mark Bulger, and the St. Louis Rams improved to 2-1 on the NFL preseason with a 24-21 victory over the host Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams led 24-14 heading into the fourth quarter, but a Bengals TD early in the frame made for some drama down the stretch. The Bengals couldn’t close the deal, however, and dropped to 1-2 on the NFL preseason.

Boller did withstand a hard hit from linebacker Keith Rivers that knocked his helmet off his head. Despite the hit, he Rams #2 QB was 14 of 20 for 96 yards. After the game, he talked about the play:

“I could have slid a little earlier. It is what it is. My chin strap hit just above my eyes. It was a good scramble, but maybe if I can get down a little sooner, the coaches would like that.”

Rivers also commented on the play, insisting that the hard hit wasnt intentional:

“I was just trying to get to the ball. It wasn’t anything intentional.”

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo gave Boller some props in his postgame media comments:

UFC 102: Nogueira Beats Couture In Main Event

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira left a lot of questions unanswered in the wake of his UFC 92 loss to Frank Mir. After the fight it was revealed that hed suffered from a staph infection during training, severe enough to land him in the hospital for five days. He insisted that the loss was entirely attributable to his illness. At UFC 102 from the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon, Big Nog made a compelling case that his loss to Mir was a definite aberration. Nogueira dominated a determined Randy Couture over three rounds, en route to a unanimous decision victory over the UFC Hall of Famer.

Nogueira received a respectful welcome from the Rose City crowd, but nothing like the rousing ovation afforded local hero Couture. Couture lived in suburban Gresham, Oregon for a number of years and trained at Team Quest before leaving to start Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas.

Minnesota RB Peterson Should Play Despite Back Injury

Posted by: Ross Everett  :  Category: Travel

Brett Favre may get all of the headlines for the Minnesota Vikings, but NFL insiders are well aware that running back Adrian Peterson is the key to the teams offensive success. Peterson’s threat alone is enough to open up options for the passing game. Hes definitely more than a decoy, however–after winning the NFL rushing title last year hes already off to a great start with 272 yards and four touchdowns in only two games. His threat on the ground has been a large part for Favre’s solid play with his new team.

There’s been a good deal of concern this week in the Twin Cities media about Peterson’s health. Specifically, there are questions about the severity of a back injury suffered last weekend. Peterson has been limited in his practice activities all week as a precaution, though both he and QB Favre as listed as probable on the NFLs official injury report.

Peterson tried to downplay the severity of his injury in comments to reporters:

“God willing, I will be out there playing. Not a big deal at all.”

He turned into a standup comic when asked for details on the injury. Asked when the injury occurred, Peterson quipped:
