A Novice’s Guide For Playing Craps Online

Posted by: Simon M Skinner  :  Category: Computer & Internet

Playing craps can be very confusing for beginners. Craps can get into some very complicated betting strategies and players make or lose a lot of money in the process. Online casino gambling is no different, unless you are playing a free online casino that offers craps you can play with play money or on a freeroll game.

This article will attempt to outline basic betting strategies for craps since even those basics can be hard to grasp. Afterward, if you get comfortable with these, then you can explore learning complex betting strategies-and even then, learning at a free online casino is the recommended way to go.

If you’re playing craps live in a real casino, this game is really fast paced. There are four dealers and a shooter required to play. Online casino gambling is slightly different because the shooter can circle around the table. Also, the computer program actually does a lot of the work with payouts and collecting for losses.

Free online casino craps games start out with a “come out” roll of the dice. This sets the point the shooter wants to re-roll before “crapping” out with a seven on the dice. The basic bet for this game is called the “pass line.” When players elect to “don’t pass,” that is the opposite of the winning bet. So the “come out” roll gets an “OFF” marker-unless the “come out” roll is 11 or 7 in which case you win even cash. After that, if you roll a 7 before you hit the point, you lose.

On the come out roll, if you roll a 2, 3 or 12, which is called “craps”, you lose. If you roll 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that is your point that you have to roll again before the 7. So, the game starts with you using the “pass line” to place your bet, betting on hitting the point before hitting a 7. If you use the “don’t pass” line, it means you are betting that a 7 will hit before hitting the point number.

Let’s look at an online casino gambling scenario to illustrate the point:

First the dealer puts the black “off” marker out so everyone can place their bets. Then the shooter rolls for the “come out” dice. He gets a 7 so that means everyone wins their bet-unless they placed a “don’t pass” bet. The players who did that actually lose.

The game goes again but the shooter rolls a 6 this time. The “off” marker is flipped over to white and the “on” side and placed by the 6. Now the shooter will continue to roll, and everyone who bet on the “pass” line fervently hopes the shooter will get a 6 before rolling a 7, because then the will all win. He does and everyone is happy-except the “don’t pass” bettors who lose.

So now it’s another round. Again the dealer puts the black “off” marker out and everyone who wants to play places their bests. In this scenario the This time, the shooter gets a 6 on the “come out” roll. So the dealer flips the white “on” marker and puts it by the 6. This time the shooter rolls numerous times and then rolls a 7 without getting a 6. Now the opposite is true. Everyone loses-unless they placed a bet on the “don’t pass” line. Those betters win this time around.

You can start betting different “odds” as you learn the basics, but online casino gambling at a free online casino is a good way to learn the game, before you get too complicated with your betting by learning “odds” betting.
