Fix Xbox 360 Three Red Lights

Posted by: Margaret York  :  Category: Computer & Internet

If you own an Xbox 360, or know someone that does, you’ve probably heard of the scandalous three red lights of death. This is when 3 of the 4 normally green lights turn red when you power up the console. The Xbox 360’s three red lights signify a a general hardware failure has occurred, and that the machine is totally inoperable.

I feel like somewhat of a leading figure on this subject now, following my own run-in with the three red lights on my personal Xbox 360 a fortnight gone. weeks back. And when you factor in that as much as 35% of all Xbox 360s will fail at some point in their lives, there should be thousands more like me out there.

The reason I am writing about it is that I believe I may have stumbled onto something other folks in my position could find very useful.

I was running a search on Google for the Xbox 360 3 red lights, and while I was sieving my way thru the mostly unhelpful results, I found The Xbox 360 Red Light Fix Pro Gamer Edition. It instantly struck me as something else, commonly because the developers offered a guarantee that inside two hours I’d be in a position to dump the Xbox 360 three red lights.

Windows Mobile devs should start dotting their I’s and crossing their T’s, because Microsoft’s going to be ready to take a good, hard look at their latest and greatest apps come the 27th of this month when the company finally swings open the doors to the submission processes for inclusion in the Windows Marketplace. The announcement has been made at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference this week as it gears up for an onslaught of devices running WinMo 6.5 at retail later this year, though the retail channel might not be where much of the action lies; unlike the Apple App Store, the Android Market, Palm’s App Catalog and others, Microsoft is putting major emphasis on a segment of Windows Marketplace it’s calling the Business Center where corporate-focused apps and utilities will have a place to live. Boring, yes — but probably also very profitable in the business fleet market segment where WinMo tends to thrive.

Why Sacramento For California

Posted by: William Holliday  :  Category: Travel

Though California is rife with major cities, few get the attention they deserve. To be sure, international tourist destinations, like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Newport Beach seem to dominate talk of California. The same can be said of quaint college towns like Berkeley, Davis, and Irvine, or alternative lifestyle meccas, like Big Sur and San Francisco again, seldom does the capital of the Golden State get its due.

Named by the Spanish army officer, Gabriel Moraga, Sacramento was little more than a trading post when John Sutter arrived in 1839 from Switzerland. Within ten years he and his heirs would guide the transformation of the trading post into a military barracks for the U.S. Army and eventually into an incorporated city. Sacramento is the oldest incorporated city in the state, having been invested in 1850. This does not mean it is the oldest, however, as that distinction belongs to Monterey.

The capital of California was moved from Monterey after the defeat of Mexico during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). The first city to be designated the new capitol was San Jose. When the state legislature met there in 1850, it was argued the capitol should be moved further inland to avoid retribution either from Mexico or the Spanish Empire.

We’ve been pretty into Carnegie Mellon’s modular snake robots for a while now, and seeing as it’s a pretty sleepy Sunday we thought we’d share this latest video of snakebots just basically crawling all over the place and getting crazy. Bots like these have been getting some serious military attention lately, so watching these guys wriggle into any damn spot they please is at once awesome and terrifying. Or maybe it’s just the music. Video after the break.

[Thanks, Curtis]
